How often do we try to change our life around and then to stop because we think, or we are told, that it is too late. It is never too late to start your life over, take a new direction or begin a new relationship.
If we continuously look back into the past, then we will see ourselves on a finite timeline and because of this, we will assume that too much time has passed and change is pointless; the same is true if we look too far into the future. If, on the other hand, we live in the moment and experience the power of ‘now’, we will see an expanse of endless possibility and opportunity for us to enrich our lives.
The idea that ‘life begins at forty’, has been extended to now include 45, 50, 55 and beyond! This clearly shows that the old ideas of time and longevity are no longer applicable. The old adage ‘three score years and ten’ is meaningless these days; we all live linger and we have every right to lead fulfilling, purposeful lives no matter what the age is.
If you have new ideas for your life purpose or you have new plans and new direction that you wish to go, then realize that it is never too late to start afresh. There are no rules that say at a certain age we must stop; your brain doesn’t stop so why would age be a reason?
The excuse that it is too late is simply that, an excuse. No one is ever really telling you that you cannot do the things that you want to accomplish, so don’t use excuses to make positive lasting change in your life. You have the right to be happy and prosperous and to lead a fulfilling life, so why not grab the moment and give it a go.
If it helps, seek out stories of people older than yourself who have changed their lives. Perhaps they went back to college or University; perhaps they took up a completely new hobby or even started their own business. There are many stories out there that can show you that a life change can occur at any age.
Do not look back and do not look to far forward, live in the now, seize the moment and do that one thing that you have always wanted to do.
