One traveller’s return to Devon

Dartmouth, Devon: one of the most beautiful places one could ever visit or, if you are lucky enough, live. After travelling throughout the United States, Costa Rica and the United Kingdom, including living in Hampstead in London, coming back to Dartmouth in Devon was another defining point in my life.

Dartmouth in Devon has so much to offer in such a seemingly small place. Hotels in Dartmouth, Devon are available and one could not do better than the Royal Castle Hotel; everything from superb customer service to an award winning breakfast. The ambience and environment are impeccable; along with stunning river views.

Dartmouth, Devon of course has the river Dart. During the summer months one can take river cruises to the villages and towns further upstream and keep an eye out for birdlife and the odd seal or two!

Dartmouth in Devon also has a great castle. Walking from the town centre to Dartmouth castle is a great trip in itself; with stunning views of the Dart and over the water to Kingswear. At the castle there is a great tea room and of course entrance to Dartmouth castle itself.

Within the town of Dartmouth in Devon there are many great shops to browse. You will find art galleries, clothing retailers, lots of coffee shops and some fantastic bookshops. There are events throughout the summer including the world famous Dartmouth regatta.

The beauty of Dartmouth in Devon is also after the main tourist season is over. Autumn and winter have events and entertainment so you will never find the town boring. Spending Christmas in Dartmouth in Devon is also one of the nicest things one could experience.

The community spirit here is the best I have ever experienced anywhere on my travels. I left Dartmouth in Devon due to work; and now I am working from home coming back to live here is a dream come true for me.

In such a short article I cannot do Dartmouth in Devon any justice; however if you are looking for fun, entertainment, great community spirit, fantastic scenery then come down to Dartmouth in Devon. No matter what time of year; cruising down the Dart in summer or singing carols around the town Christmas tree, you will find everything you need here.

I tried to leave once and now I am fortunate enough to come back!
