To Truly Connect with an Unseen God

To truly connect with a God that one doesn’t see is to remove all notions of what ‘seeing’ actually means. If one is waiting for a specific situation or event to occur then you will probably be very disappointed. If you have an idea of God and particularly if you have an idea of what God would look like then again you will lead a very disappointed life waiting for such an image to manifest itself to you.

The nature of a tree is revealed in its leaves and in its fruits. Here then we see a parallel. The nature of God is expression and creation. What we see then is that the images of god are the creations of God themselves. This then leads us to a discovery: if we are created in God’s image then the fruits of God are indeed ourselves.

This then leads us to another important revelation. To witness God we witness our neighbour and in this way we witness ourselves and watch as God appears in our interactions with each other. For this to be effective we must suspend our judgment on our neighbour and allow God to shine through. This can become challenging if we are in difficult situations or circumstances and can become very difficult if we are faced with someone that we either have a problem with or someone that we cannot help but to judge.

This is where a sincere submission to God and to Christ allows the truth of any situation to shine through and we can experience small miracles of renewed communication and wholeness. Actually these are not small miracles at all: there is no such thing as a small miracle. Every miracle we experience is a whole experience and itself and by being whole it is total in its truth and in its reach. One true moment of communication can literally effect the entire planet and beyond.

So now we are learning to see God in our daily lives: at work, at play, at home, with friends and even with ‘enemies’. There is literally no situation where God is not present and there is never a situation that the Light of Christ cannot shine upon. We then can truly see God by being witness to God’s works and the more that we do this the more obvious will those moments become until eventually we are witnessing God in every situation and circumstance in which we find ourselves.
