“Thou shalt not kill” – unless oil is involved; “Thou shalt not steal” – unless you are a politician making an expenses claim. We have the Ten Commandments in our society and yet these days they seem to mean very little. Perhaps it is like telling a child not to eat candy before dinner and they do it because they should not; who knows. Perhaps it is time to look in a different light on the world and make commandments based on personal growth and not an outdated and vengeful God.
As the world changes and ‘civilisation’ reaches news levels of consciousness then we must adapt and mutate our lifestyle in accordance with new awareness. The line between ‘them’ and ‘us’ is becoming thinner and thinner and so we now need to look within to bring change at a microcosmic level in order to reflect change at the macrocosmic level; scapegoats are not the answer any more, too many have already been sacrificed.
So here are ten ‘suggestions’ that one may, or may not, choose to follow:
1. Thou shalt not give thy power away to external elements
2. Thou shalt not project distant memories of past events onto the person before you
3. Thou shalt not hold onto guilt and regret
4. Thou shalt not watch the news before retiring to the bedroom
5. Thou shalt not procrastinate
6. Thou shall see thy neighbor as thyself, because she/he is thyself
7. Thou shall follow thy true will and passion
8. Thou shall set aside time every day for thyself alone
9. Thou shall let the past be gone
10. Thou shall forgive thyself
Yours, in peace,
