This is a great dish for cold evenings. Shred the cabbage and fry in olive oil with some thinly sliced white onion. While this is cooking mash up some pre-boiled potatoes, add a little olive oil and then add to the hot pan. Mix with the cabbage and onions and until the potatoes get crispy.
Savoy Cabbage Recipe #2 – Sweet and Sour Savoy Cabbage
Here we will use finely sliced cabbage. Get your pan hot and add a little vegetable oil. Toss in the cabbage and quickly stir. Add some tomato puree, a little soy sauce and a dash of Chinese vinegar. You can use a little orange juice, honey or sugar for the sweetness and finally a pinch of corn flour to thicken the gravy.
Savoy Cabbage Recipe #3 – Savoy Cabbage with Basil and Tomatoes
Thinly chopped cabbage is delicious with tomato. Fry chopped tomatoes gently in olive oil and then throw in some chopped garlic and onion. Next, add a little tomato puree and a dash of tomato juice. Add the cabbage leaves and slowly cook along with oregano and a few bay leaves. Add a few basil leaves and you have a pasta dish with just Savoy cabbage – delicious!

Finely slice the cabbage leaves. Add oil to a hot pan then add some ginger, garlic and a dab of soy sauce. Throw in the leaves and stir-fry until nice and green. This makes a great side dish as well as a standalone dish.

These cabbage parcels are simple and delicious. You can use any filling you want, such as cooked rice with mincemeat or chopped onion. Steam the cabbage leaves until soft and then use them to wrap the mixture. These can be served as a side dish or a great accompaniment to the Chinese recipes.
