This is the writer’s very personal view on Christianity and the Christ mindset.
To be a Christian is more than simply living by a set of rules and regulations, it is about direct experience of god and of Christ. Being a Christian, means adopting Christ-like values and living in a Christ-like way; this then is beyond doctrine and dogma.
To cherry-pick favorite excerpts from a book and use that to justify judgement, punishment or even murder is not what Christ had in mind! Remember, Jesus taught experience of God, he did not teach the bible. The word of God is that direct link between you and the divine Mind of the Universe; this has little to do with scribbling on pieces of paper.
Simple laws of cause and effect are clearly outlined in Christ’s teachings. For example, ‘You reap what you sow’ is amazingly overlooked by those that love to associate Christ’s teachings with hellfire and damnation! Where is the Love in those tales of terror that are spouted from many a pulpit!
Love is not the romantic interlude that we see in our relationships; Love is the all-driving force behind the Universe. It is a powerful energy of creation and expansion, a tidal wave of thought and extension. Christ brought us in touch with this force so that we may experience the Kingdom of heaven now and that the old laws of judgment and vengeance be put aside; “and heaven and earth shall pass away” – a merging of experience and an integration of the self with reality.
Being a Christian means that one does not have to be bound by a doctrine or a church. In fact, the Christ Mind can be found in Buddhist teaching, Hindu teaching, Qabbalah and many, many more traditions.
Therefore, we as individuals can experience Christ mindfulness at any moment and in all moments. This will be liberating, healing and will destroy prejudice and judgement. This direct experience of Christ cannot be put into written words, or even vocalized. Thus, the next natural step would be to go out into the community we live and simply extend that which the Christ mind has endowed us with.
To live as Christ is to extend the Father, the Universal Mind, the God/Goddess, All That Is: the name is not important. The extension is important and is how we heal and how we walk in Light.
