Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

The benefits of apple cider vinegar have become legendary and almost mythical. Apple cider vinegar is used as a tonic for heartburn, acid reflux, joint pain and even weight loss. Some users have also experienced higher energy levels and much reduced fatigue with continuous use of apple cider vinegar. Whether or not there exists scientific proof for the benefits of apple cider vinegar matters not to those that regularly use it.

There are many ways to take apple cider vinegar as a tonic. For example, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in warm water is perfect on an empty stomach; this is ideal as a wake-up tonic. If the taste of the apple cider vinegar is too strong, then one can add a teaspoon of honey into the mixture. The honey can also impart its own healing properties, especially if you use a good quality Manuka honey or Eucalyptus honey.

The choice of apple cider vinegar will make a big difference to the properties of the tonic. The key element is the inclusion of the ‘mother’. The ‘mother’ element is a naturally occurring substance that forms on the surface during the apple cider vinegar making process. This ‘mother’ helps the fermentation process and this element gives the enzymes and the minerals to the apple cider vinegar. Without the ‘mother’ element, the apple cider vinegar will not contain all of the healing properties.

As part of an acid-reflux diet, apple cider vinegar can work wonders. One may think that apple cider vinegar is pure acidic due to its taste, yet apple cider vinegar contains many alkaline benefits which can help restore the system away from an acidic bias; the cause of most disease in modern society.

Apple cider vinegar makes a great addition to cooking and is a fine salad dressing; apple cider vinegar can be poured over boiled potatoes or even chips! A mixture of high quality olive oil and apple cider vinegar is delicious and one receives the benefit of the olive oil.  After some use, you will get used to the unique taste of apple cider vinegar and may even start using it water without needing the honey; the advice would be to use warm water, not boiling water when you create your tonic

To restate, always make sure that your apple cider vinegar contains the healing ‘mother’ element and you will start to feel the benefits of this wonderful healing tonic.
